Thomas Edison's Electric Lamp
This is a copy of Thomas Edison’s patent for his electric light bulb filed in January 1880. The patent describes how the incandescent lamp works, including the use of carbon filament in a vacuum and the method of manufacturing it. It also includes the detailed drawings of the light bulb and its components and a description of the manufacturing process for the bulb. The patent goes on to discuss previous attempts at incandescent lighting and how Edison’s invention improved upon them.
